Yesterday, my assistant and I met up with this brother and sister at Honeymoon Island. They wanted to have some pictures done for their mom's birthday, awww. Such sweet kids!

This sweet little baby is 11 weeks old here, but she still looks newborn to me! She slept almost the whole time I was there, through dogs barking and big kids yelling. She let me pose her and move her all over and never complained...

Lucky me was in VA last week shooting a conference! While I was there I squeezed in a quick session with one of my BFF's two kids.

My daughter has been friends with her son since they were one and now they are starting Kindergarten in the fall (sniff sniff)...

This shoot was so much fun! The little girls had the sweetest outfits on! I loved following them around on the beach last night and I love that mom likes portraits that aren't all smiley at the camera. Capturing moments as they happen most of the time leads to images that take your breath away. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

One year old in a pink tutu

This adorable little girl is baby B. She is actually older than my
one year old but she is such a tiny one! She loves having her
picture taken and dressing up in fun clothes too! These pictures were taken in my studio set-up. I used mostly natural light with some bounced flash to fill in the shadows.

Miss B is teething, which is why she is constantly chewing on her hand. Poor baby :(

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to photograph this cute newlywed couple at John's Pass. They were so sweet and up for anything!

John's Pass was a perfect location! There was a spot under the boardwalk with sand and some water and a cool old broken down dock.

This week I was lucky to shoot an entire family from Maryland! They came down to visit Grandma and Grandpa and I met up with them on the beach for a big family style session. I had some time alone with Baby B this week while the others were asleep and I have been dying to put her cute little curls in pigtails. She was not that into it, but she did sit nicely and chewed on a comb while I was working on them.
These were taken in my front entryway again, with a bounced flash off the wall to her left.

Trying out a new location...

The kids and I headed to a new park this weekend to see if it would be a good location. I decided that there are some great spots, but it would have been best not to head out at noon! The sun was so bright and I had to toss a lot of pictures because of the harsh shadows on the kid's faces.

I took this one in the shade and you can really tell. There is hardly any light in his eyes. I think next week I may experiment with a reflector...

This weekend, M and I went to an ILP (I Love Photography) meet-up. It was at the University of Tampa, which was an awesome location! M and I had so much fun hanging out with the other photographers and their cute kids! Lucky for me, I got to practice on their adorable kids and got great shots of my own.

It was a great day for photos! I am really happy with how these turned out. I only wish I could have had more eye contact.

I am so lucky to have big and little T here with me every week! They are so sweet and so adorable. I know soon they will tire of me following them around with a camera.

This picture was taken a couple of weeks before T turns 1. I was trying to get him to clap his hands, which he does when he likes something, not when I am taking his picture.

Here are some photos I took this past weekend at the rail road tracks in Safety Harbor. We actually had to go back two days in a row to get the shots so I am thankful for my patients models. Yes, that is a rock the baby is eating :)

With my new camera and my new love of photography, I am starting Grace B James photography. Grace B James are the middle names of my children, Madison, Brady and Anthony. You will probably see mostly them on this blog for now, but I hope to build my portfolio this year.

So to start, these are some pictures I took around January 1, 2009...

I am so blessed to be living in FL right now where the weather is great for outdoor photos! The sky is always such a pretty shade of blue and the beach makes such a good backdrop. I hope to add new photos every week so check back often!
